Line best of fit

i did completions and attempts Passing yards using 10 players.  if i had 1000 attempts how many completions will i have?

this is my equation. y=35/17x - 17

1000=35/17c-17
+17

1017=35/17c

1017/494c

blog # 4

Slope/rate of change
1. What does the slope of a line represent? it represents the direction of line
2. How do you find the slope of a line given the equation? Given the graph? it depends on what data you have, u set up a function and get a slope
3. Why can slope be interpreted as a rate of change?
it  doesn't change

x and y intercepts
4. How does identifying the x and y-intercepts of a linear equation help you graph the line?
the graph is basically X and Y lines.. so its easier for us to graph it that  way
Slope intercept form

5. Why is the equation y=mx+b referred to as the slope intercept form of a linear equation?  because the m is the slope and b is the y intercept and its easy to graph

6. How do you graph linear equations given in slope-intercept form?
start with the y intercept than slope

7. How do YOU determine which method is best to graph with comparing the 3 methods studied?
slope intercept is better and because i feel like its the easiest

Translations
8. Come up with a set of three functions that would be considered a family of functions. Explain. y=1x+2, y=2x+2,y=4x+2

9. How is the graph of f(x) = x related to the graph of h(x) = -2x-3?

10. How can changes in slope affect a graph? it either varies from positive to negative

11. How can changes in the y-intercept affect a graph?  its either positive or negative and the shading and all that diffeers

Weeks in Review
VIRUS PROJECT
12. What are all of the things that you learned mathematically about during the Create your own Virus Project?  lines can get confusing. i learned how to make a pattern graping points and writing functions

13. What did you learn about yourself during the project? (need to ask more questions, take better notes, utilize time....etc.....) i didnt think i would finish it
13. What was challenging about the VIRUS project for you? to many lines
14. Looking at your creativity level, what would your rate yourself on a
scale of 1-10?  20
15. Looking at your mathematics learned and achieved, what grade would you give yourself from A - Z?
A+++++

DISASTER AMONGST US
16. How can creating functions from 2 pieces of data help us in a real world situation? helps us with statistics
17. What world problem did you focus on when creating your function? money
18. How can knowing YOUR function, help researchers in predicting or fixing the disaster in the future? its all about numbers and science. if you have that than u can figure anything out

NOTES
19. How will collaborating on notes help with your mathematics now, for projects, and for classwork?  memorization and review
20. How can you create the notes so that they can be used in different courses?? good title, date, and step by step and examples..

21. What are you going to focus on to make sure that they are notes that work for you?

organize notes and title them

new blog

1. What would you do the same next quarter that you did this quarter? (notes, attendance, attentativeness, organization,.......etc.)  takes notes and show up to class...

2. What would you do differently next quarter that you did this quarter?
try my hardest to stay on top of things

3. How does Mr. Fournier's grade compare to the one you feel you deserve? Elaborate on why you feel this way.
I mean my grade is the way it is b/c i didnt turn in assignments.. its my own fault

4. What part of the subject of algebra did you become best at?
functions

5. What part(s) do you need to work on? How are you going to do that before it is too late?
word problems and a little bit more review on some things so i can be more familiar with it

6. Keeping time & subject material out of the equation (since there is no control of that), what would you like to see Mr. Fournier do differently that would help you next quarter?

I like how the class isn't all about mathh, so i really can't complain about blogs and stuff because i rather do this than math problems.. i just don't like the two combination's at once because it gets confusing and i get unorganized

7. Imagine you were calling your friend who is a year younger and going to take this course next year. Explain to them in 25 words or less how to succeed in this course.

pay attention and always remember what the teacher say

8. Write a summary of the four projects that you did this quarter. (what were they, what type of math did you need to know for each, what math did you learn on the project, how does it relate to real life............etc.)
bell curve, it was alot to do  in only a short period of time, and the other projects were okay but i rather do solo work because its harder to stay organized in groups because people aren't responsible.

9. Find some else's blog and leave an insightful comment on one of their postings.
i haven't got any one else on my blog list yet

what i learned today

today in math class i learned how you can get a equation with a slope if your  given 2 different points on a graph , and i learned how t show my work for it in  point slope form

my project

a virus breakdown just happened in miami and its spreading fast. very contigous and airborne. i've taken a scope of this virus and the lines of this virus is a mess. hope there is a cure
